Basketball finishes the month strong

The Lady Ravens traveled down to Schlagle High school Friday, January 18, to face off against the Stallions. It was a very fast paced game in the first few quarters but the Lady Ravens were able to slow them down to play at their pace. The girls were able to get Schlage’s big girl in foul trouble early and then ultimately take control of the rest of the game coming out with a win 52-39.

Then, the Lady Ravens traveled down to Newton, Kansas last weekend to play in the 43rd annual Newton Invitational. Though being ranked a seven seed the Ravens made it all the way to the championship game. The girls rolled through the first round beating Kapuan Mt. Carmel 59-36 shutting their big scorers down and moving the ball around on offense. They then conquered Bishop Carroll 57-50 playing great team defense to put the Ravens in the Championship. Unfortunately, the Ravens lost in the championship to Bishop Miege 60-40 taking home second place. Nice work ladies. The Girls play this Friday at Olathe East at 5:30.
