“I’m really excited about this year we have a lot of guys coming back after a pretty strong season and a few more additions that will make us even more successful next year.” -Coach Drew Smith
Coach Smith is excited about what this season has to bring along with a new addition to the team Louis Lamber, a foreign exchange students from France.
“Tennis is pretty low on the totem pole as far as gym space. Baseball gets gym space softball get gym space track and field get gym space, so we run in the hall because there isn’t a lot we can do without courts.” -Coach Drew Smith
Coach Smith touches on how it is hard to work on preseason skills when there isn’t a lot of space available for the tennis team, so they usually just run to stay in shape. Smith also touches on how most of the kids take lessons and play year round so they aren’t so behind when high school season begins.
“I was never given the chance to play tennis in high school because in France they don’t have it and I am really excited to represent ONW because I feel like a Raven.” -Louis Lambert
The ONW tennis team welcomed a new player this year Louis Lamber, a foreign exchange student from France. He is excited to play because in France because France doesn’t have the aspect of high school teams.
“I am filling the spot of Tolu, one of the seniors we lost and Tolu just made practices really fun and entertaining so I will miss that this.” -Alex Burnham
Junior, Alex Burnham is stepping up to fill the role of last years senior Tolu. Burnham and the team will miss the energy he Brough to practice and will have to step up this year.
