Girls Soccer play rough and tough, but lose to physical SMW

Thursday 3/28, the Raven Soccer team took on the SMW Vikings. The girls already had a long night with a rain delay until 8:10. Having their second game of the annual preseason soccer tournament of the year. Playing the very physical SMW the girls came out strong despite the weather. First half score was tied at 0-0 as both of the teams couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net. Skyler Shirinian had a 20 yard shot that almost went in but the SMW goalie stopped the ball right on the line. Second half the Vikings got a corn kick in and the ball bounced around the 6 yard box. Emma Smither couldn’t get her hand on it to allow the Vikings a 1-0 lead. After the game got pretty physical with fouls on both teams. The Ravens not being able to put the ball in the net, the score was final at 1-0. Despite the loss, the Ravens played well. The Ravens game on Saturday got canceled and will be rescheduled for later in the season. Good luck ravens!
