On Monday, April 8th, the Ravens were in the visiting dugout to play their rivals, Olathe West at the College Boulevard Activity Center.
Despite two early walks, the Ravens failed to get on the board in the 1st inning because of inopportune pop-outs. In the bottom of the same frame, the Owls scored 2 behind a 2 run homer off of starting pitcher Sam Righter. From there, the game stayed locked in contention for several innings. After the Ravens battled back in the 5th to tie the game at 2, the Owls countered with two more runs of their own. Righter pitched 5 innings and gave the Ravens a chance to win, but the offensive approach faltered down the stretch. Northwest failed to score until the top of the 7th, but not before the Owl tacked on two more.
The final score of the game was 6-3, Olathe West over Northwest. The Ravens plan to bounce back in their matchup with Shawnee Mission West on Tuesday the 9th.
