ONW Volleyball splits with Free State and Olathe East

The Raven volleyball team was back on the court Tuesday night battling against Lawrence Free State and Olathe East. First, the ladies played the firebirds losing the match 25-17 and 25-18.

Kaiti Parks led the team in kills and blocks, Courtney Jackson led the team in digs and assists and Emily Slightom led the team in serving aces and serving receptions.  “It made me realize there is more work to be done, but we’re only gonna change for the better,” Kailen Chase said.

Then the Ravens took on the Hawks. Coming back from a 5 plus point deficit in the first set, the ravens won the game 29-27, and then handled the Hawks in the second set winning, 25-20. “Emily played a really good defensive gave with 14 digs and passing a 2.13 in serve/receive. She also had an ace while making 100% of her serves and contributed 4 assists,” Olathe Northwest Head Coach Barry Lenth said.

The Ravens play next in the MOKAN tournament this Saturday at Lee’s summit West. The Ladies then turn around and play Shawnee Mission East and Olathe west on Tuesday at Olathe West.
