The Ravens Men’s Soccer team took on Shawnee Mission South last Tuesday. The Ravens ended up winning 3-0. Goals from Davis Goertzen and two by Landon Ouellette allowed the Ravens to fly by the Raiders. All goals were assisted by Mason Badowski. There was great defensive work by Dayton Henke, Alex Harling, Mason Win, and John Lindsey.
The Ravens started off strong against the Raiders, scoring a quick goal in the first half. Then, Ravens continued to play well scoring two in the second half. The key to keeping a clean sheet is “effective team communication,” said Dayton Henke. He also said the team “worked hard together to get the win”. “[We] put the ball into the net, and that always helps,” Henke said.
The Ravens’ next match will be against Lawrence Free State at home. They will be hoping to get a major win like they did Tuesday night. Having strong defense is what the team wants, alongside a strong attack that can put balls in the back of the net.
