ONW Volleyball Continues Their Win Streak Against Shawnee Mission North

By Andrew Beckwith

On October 10, the Olathe Northwest Ravens volleyball team defeated the Shawnee Mission North Indians 2-0, increasing their winning streak to three games. Their record before the game 9-14 under coach Barry Lenth, so the win helped to potentially keep their season in the balance. The game was at Shawnee Mission North for the conference match, so the Ravens lacked their normally dominant home crowd this time around.

The Ravens struggled at the beginning of the first set but were eventually able to pull away with a score of 25-14. The contributions from key players and leaders Kaiti Parks, Courtney Jackson and Kailen Chase proved vital as the Ravens moved on to the second set. Though the game was close near the middle of the game, ONW pulled away yet again, beating the Indians 25-15.

The Ravens took the second set, beating Shawnee Mission North 2-0. Both games were very similar in score and overall execution. The three game win streak has sparked some momentum in this Ravens team as they play Olathe South on October 14th at 5:30 at ONW during the Dig Pink Tournament.
