The 2019 Cross Country season just came to an end. Although long, this season was not one to forget.
This season was a special one as it officially started the new traditions. With the fun trip to Colorado and homecoming ball run, the future is bright for the team. Colorado hosted many memories the team will hold forever as Lydia McGlocklin, Ashton Dain, and Logan Read all placed in the high altitude race. But the race wasn’t the best part. This meet allowed the Varsity team to get closer and have success for the future. Moreover, the meet ended up paving the way for Maleah Wardlaw, Lydia McGlocklin, and Logan Read to punch their way to state as regional individuals.
This 2019 Cross Country State meet was one for the books. While the achievements of the individuals were great, the rest of the team traveled to the state meet to cheer on these individuals one last time, showing Cross Country isn’t just an individual sport but a team in which the runners motivate each other through the painful race. As for results, not only was Logan Read a State Runner up but he also broke his own record and the school record by over 20 seconds with a time of 15:58. Lydia McGlocklin also had an amazing run to cap off a 17th place finish for her second round at state as a sophomore! And lastly, Maleah Wardlaw ran her hardest for her last Cross Country meet of her high school career.
