2018 Volleyball Recap

The Lady Ravens volleyball team ended their season very well. Although the ladies didn’t end up with the ultimate gold and being best of the state, they got top 3. The ladies set very high expectations considering they where trying to 3-peat as State Champions. As they got the bronze, the underclassmen where reminiscing about their season as well as memories they made with their seniors Abby Copeland, Josie Peterson, and Lindsey Heller.

The Ravens ended the season 28-16. Although the Ravens didn’t have the best season, they had athletes who did un believable jobs. Abby Copeland and Josie Peterson where both named to Honorable mention Sunflower League. Renee Oswalt was named Second team Sunflower League. Lindsey Heller was named Second team All Sunflower League, Honorable mention All State, and was selected for the MOKAN Senior All-Star Match. Courtney Jackson was named First team Sunflower League and Honorable mention All State. Lily Becker was named to the State All Tournament team, Second team All State, First team Sunflower League, as well as set the new school record for digs in a season with 500. Finally Kaiti Parks received All Tournament team, First team Sunflower League, and First team All State.

The ladies look forward to next season as they have 3 seniors step up (Becker, Oswalt, and Parks). They are excited for new competition as well as to get back to the podium. They are all very competitive and won’t stop till they get that gold. Good luck ladies!
