The Cross Country team competed at JCCC last saturday for regionals. The girls team qualified for state by placing third in the meet after missing it by only a point last year. The whole girls team ran season bests to insure their trip to state. They were led by freshman Lydia Mcglocklin placing 8th with a 19:51, Junior Ashton Dain placed 14th running a 20:21, and shortly followed by senior Leah Wellman in 15th with a 20:22. Junior Maleah Wardlaw placed 21st with a 20:46. Senior Amelia Sims placed 34th and Skylar Long placed 39th with a 21:38 and 22:50 respectfully.
On the boys side Brian Kitur is the lone qualifier placing 15th with a 17:00 and punching his ticket to state as an individual. The following boys runners ran their last race of the season. Senior Parker Riess ran a 17:33 for 30th closely followed by Andrew Tracy with a 17:34 for 32nd. Sophomore Logan Read ran a 17:49 for 36th place. Senior Gage St.Pierre “The Amish Armageddon” ran a 18:42 for 45th. The two freshmen wonders Alex Ling and Hudson Hurtig put on a good preview for next year and ran a 18:47 and 19:41 for 46th and 50th.
Catch the Ravens run at state saturday at rim rock farm.Rim Rock is a notoriously challenging course but the ravens are facing it for their third time this season. It should be an exiting race with three seniors running their last race ever.
